Experience the Beauty of a Russian Manicure at Our Botanical-Based Nail Spa
In the world of nail care and manicures, there's a technique that's been gaining popularity for its precision and elegance – the Russian manicure. This meticulous approach to nail grooming and cuticle care goes beyond the standard procedures, providing clients with stunning and long-lasting results. At Herbal Nail Bar, we're excited to introduce you to the magic of the Russian manicure and explain why it's the perfect choice for those seeking both beauty and wellness.
What Is a Russian Manicure?
A Russian manicure, often referred to as a dry manicure, is a technique that focuses on cuticle and nail plate care without soaking the nails in water. This approach is gentle, precise, and highly effective. It involves the use of specialized tools and techniques to clean, shape, and nourish the nails and cuticles.
The Benefits of a Russian Manicure:
Gentle and Hygienic: By avoiding the soaking of nails in water, the Russian manicure is considered more hygienic as it reduces the risk of infection. It's especially beneficial for individuals with sensitive or fragile nails.
Precision and Detail: Russian manicures are known for their attention to detail. Nail technicians use specialized tools to gently remove dead skin and cuticles, ensuring a clean and polished appearance.

moreEmbrace Science with Botanical-Based Nail Products at Herbal Nail Bar
Welcome to Herbal Nail Bar, where science and nature come together to provide you with nail products that are not only beautiful but also beneficial. We take pride in offering a wide range of botanical-based nail products that harness the power of natural ingredients to enhance the health and appearance of your nails. In this short blog, we'll delve into the scientific benefits of using botanical-based nail products and why they are a smart choice for your nail care routine.
1. Gentle and Nourishing Formulations:
Botanical-based nail products are formulated with ingredients derived from plants and herbs, making them gentle and non-toxic. Traditional nail products often contain harsh chemicals that can lead to dry, brittle nails and cuticles. On the other hand, botanical products are free from harmful substances like formaldehyde, toluene, and dibutyl phthalate, ensuring that your nails receive the care they deserve without unnecessary damage. The nourishing properties of botanical extracts and essential oils in our products help promote healthy nail growth and strengthen your nails from within.
2. Natural Antioxidant Protection:
Plants are rich in antioxidants, which play a vital role in protecting your nails from oxidative stress caused by free radicals. Antioxidants found in botanical-based nail products help neutralize free radicals, preventing them from causing damage to your nail cells and cuticles. This protection not only contributes to healthier-looking nails but also helps maintain their natural shine and vitality.

By incorporating nature's bounty into your pedicure, you allow your feet to benefit from the healing properties of botanical extracts, essential oils, and organic ingredients. Your feet will thank you as they receive nourishment, hydration, and rejuvenation in the most natural way possible.
2. Enhanced Relaxation:
A botanical-based pedicure is not just a cosmetic treatment; it is a blissful and tranquil experience. moreBenefits of Herbs in Beauty
To improve the overall health of the body, herbs have been playing a major role for decades; they help in healing wounds faster, make up for nutritional supplements and also deliver a host of benefits. Herbs strengthen the immune system, lower blood sugar and cholesterol, have anti-inflammatory properties, and prevent Alzheimer’s diseases and various types of cancer.
Herbs eliminate the nutritional deficiencies in your body and thus restore the correct function of the body. Herbs rectify problems rather than suppress them. It is also said that herbs nourish every part of the body with their vitamin and mineral content. In short, our body needs certain essential dietary nutrients to meet the everyday demands of life because herbs provide us with most of the necessary components for a healthy life.
Herbs are normally used as flavoring additives to culinary dishes. Along with that, herbs are now an integral part of various medicinal practices in most countries.
Many herbal extracts like those derived from mint, licorice, fenugreek, ginkgo, and aloe vera are used in medicines. The health benefits of herbs vary with their type. For example, ‘Artichoke’ cures different kinds of digestive problems, whereas ‘American Ginseng’ works as a health tonic and ‘Rosemary’ promotes healthy brain function. Almost all herbs have some health benefit and you can consume herbs for their comprehensive benefits after acquiring the recommendation of a medical practitioner.
moreWhich Is The Right Nail Shape for Your Nails?
Whether you’re a nail maven or just like to indulge in the occasional manicure, your nail shape communicates a lot about you. Check out this index of nail shapes that are trendy today and discover if you’re a coffin, a squoval, a stiletto, or something else entirely, and make an appointment at the Herbal Nail Bar in Naples or in Fort Myers to get your nails into tip-top shape. Let’s get started!
- Square nails are nails that are filed to 90-degree angles on either side, and at the top: perfectly square. Square nails are particularly appealing amongst the younger crowds and it’s seen as a highly modern shape. If you have narrow nail beds and slim fingers, you can rock this shape easily. Solid dark colors look great on this shape, as do negative space manis and geometric nail art, also.
- Oval nails are very natural looking, but as they are filed in on the sides they also add the illusion of length to a finger. This may also be because in order to achieve the shape, the nail must grow at least slightly beyond the end of the finger. It’s a very feminine shape and great for experimenting with trending colors. Along with bold and unexpected shades, this shape looks great in reds and metallics.
- Round nails mirror the contour of the nail with a circular edge at the tip.The tip of your nail is filed into an arch shape like a perfect circle. This shape is great for anyone looking to elongate fingers. It makes them look more narrow and it makes wide nails beds appear thinner. And it looks great in any shade, really.
- Squoval nails refer to taking the square nail shape and softening the hard angles and rounding out the edges until you’ve got: a squoval! This amazing hybrid shape is universally flattering; it looks good on short and long fingers alike. Dark shades go best with this shape.
- Coffin/ballerina nails mimic the shape of a coffin or a ballerina’s pointe shoe by tapering the sides and putting a straight edge on the tip. This particular look is favored by fashionistas and people who are generally really into nails. It’s a shape that is both chic and strong. Solid colors with matte finishes look best on this nail shape.
- Almond nails, as one would guess, tapers the tips to a point on each nail. This nail is known as the chicest nail shape in the fashion world: sexy, slenderizing, and strong are all excellent descriptors for this particular nail shape. This shape looks great in a nude color.
- Stiletto nails are long, pointy and dramatic; they’re filed to a point, like a claw. Cardi B. is one contemporary superstar who rocks this nail shape, though the shape itself dates back to the mid-20th century and has only recently seen a resurgence in popularity. Stiletto nails are great for ostentatious, over-the-top nail art such as clunky gems or lots of glitter, and as far as colors, anything goes, but the bolder, the better.
Fall Nail Trends 2020
With masks covering a significant portion of our faces, it’s important that we highlight what is visible, like our eyes, ears, and of course, our nails. Humans have been embellishing our nails since ancient times, and it certainly seems like with a global pandemic, nail art will continue to be incredibly popular. At Herbal Nail Bar in Naples, we’re used to this trend in nail salons and love how it changes with the seasons. It’s always interesting to see what color changes the seasons bring.
Nails are an incredible way to represent that you are flowing with the seasons, putting your own personal brand out there, or attending a protest or a civic act of one kind or another. Nail art can mean so many things to so many people. Nail trends this autumn are going to be amazing and we can’t wait to see what’s out there!
Here’s our top 10 autumn nail trends for 2020:
1. Using negative space. We’ve seen a lot of largely naked nails with just a pop of color here and there. Get a jump on this awesome trend; your manicurist can achieve this using nail tape.
2. BIG geometric prints. Think things like a big dot or two on a nail, mismatched colors, different colors all the way across the hands. It’s nice to feel a little undone sometimes, you know?

moreHistory of Manicures, Part 2
Getting your nails done has become quite commonplace in today’s society, especially before big events, such as weddings or beach vacations. It’s also quite common to get your nails done for the summer, especially pedicures, since you will be wearing flip flops a good majority of the time, and you want your nails to shine.
Here in Naples, Florida, where the weather is warm most of the year, getting your nails done is a year-round activity. Herbal Nail Bar offers the best nail extensions, manicures, and pedicures. When you’re looking to add a beautiful touch to your nails, we can help. Below, we’ll continue our look at the history of manicures with more modern times. Stop on by our organic nail salon today!
NAIL CARE WAS BORN
The first nail salon dedicated to nail care was opened in 1878 in New York City. Founder Mary Cobb learned about nails in France, and then brought it over here, adding her tweaks to the process. As the idea of nail care caught on, the opportunity to jump into this market was attractive. Beginning in the early 1900s, big companies such as Cutx and Revlon jumped in on the nail care market. Cutex launched its first nail product in 1911 with a product to soften the cuticles around the nail. They also created liquid nail polish in 1925, propelling them to the front of the nail care industry.
moreHistory of Manicures, Part 1
Your nails are one of the most important parts of your body. They serve to protect your fingers and toes from everyday wear and tear. They also help humans pick up food and hold onto other things. Nails are very similar to claws on other animals, and just like their claws are adapted to their environment so are our nails.

WHAT IS A MANICURE AND A PEDICURE?
A manicure today is a nail treatment typically done in a nail salon that usually involves shaping the nails, clipping any cuticles or excess skin, and then painting the nails. A pedicure is exactly the same thing, just for your feet. Both come from Latin words, “manus,” meaning hand, “cura,’ meaning care, and pedis meaning “foot.”

Rosemary is often used in the kitchen, especially when making food like roasted chicken or potatoes, making it perfect for the cooler weather. At the same time, the peppermint in this blend will probably remind you of candy canes or peppermint hot chocolate. While this seasonally relevant blend smells delicious, it will also leave your mind feeling refreshed and ready to take on the holiday season.
moreGet Your Nails Ready For Labor Day Weekend
Labor Day Weekend is just around the corner which means you will likely have a three-day weekend spent having fun in the sun. While many areas of the country will be throwing one final party before the weather turns chilly, those of us in Naples will be celebrating the fact that it’s not blazingly hot anymore!
Whether you’ll be spending the weekend on a houseboat, in a cute AirBnB on Sanibel Island, or just throwing a barbecue for your close friends and family, you will want your nails to look good. At Herbal Nail Bar, your nail salon in Naples, we can help!
The History Of Labor Day
These days, Labor Day, like many other Monday holidays, is an excuse to have a little extra fun over the weekend. And, thankfully, that’s kind of what Labor Day is all about! Labor Day began in the late 1800s and became an official federal holiday in 1894. During the industrial revolution, Americans, including children as young as five, were regularly working 12-hour days, seven days a week. Many people were subjected to unsafe work conditions, minimal breaks, and taxing manual labor. As labor unions grew and more awareness was raised for these deplorable conditions, American laborers began to gain respect and were better able to negotiate hours, wages, and working conditions. Labor unions were eventually able to secure a “workingmen’s holiday,” later known as Labor Day, to show appreciation for all of the hard work that the working population put in all year.
more5 Reasons To Get A Manicure This Week
There’s never a bad reason to indulge in a manicure at Herbal Nail Bar, your organic nail salon in Naples, Florida. But, there are a few good reasons to get one! In today’s blog, we’re going to give you five amazing reasons to stop by our nail salon for an herbal manicure!
5 Reasons To Get A Manicure - It’s Important To Treat Yourself
Treating yourself — putting yourself first — is such an important practice that you should be doing on the regular. Whether it’s taking a quiet bath, getting a manicure, or buying yourself that purse you’ve been eyeing for the last year, treating yourself is a great way to practice self-love and remind yourself that you matter. Treating yourself can boost your mood, reduce stress, and can act as a reward for all of the hard work you’ve been putting into this thing called “life.”
You’ll Get A Break From Your Phone
In this day and age, we seem to spend way too much time staring down at our phones. Whether we’re responding to texts, checking emails, or getting sucked into the scrolling trap of social media, our brains are wired to want to check our phones during every spare moment. When you get a manicure, your hands are occupied for an hour or so, making it nearly impossible to succumb to the habit of constantly checking your phone. Instead of feeling connected by staring at a screen, you are actually connected to a real human who is pampering your hands, allowing your brain to shut off for a moment.

moreLearn How To Make Your Manicure Last
When you treat yourself to a manicure at your favorite nail salon, you want to make it last as long as possible. Below, you’ll find some tips on how to make your manicure stretch further before chipping or peeling. Keep reading to find out more!
Decide What Type Of Manicure To Get
Certain types of manicures will last longer than others. Additionally, some nail polishes even claim to last longer than others. All of this will factor into the total amount of time your manicure lasts without chipping, peeling, or cracking.
The following is a generalization of how long you can expect your manicure to last before chipping:
- Normal polish: 3-5 days
- Shellac: 2-3 weeks
- Liquid Gel: 2-3 weeks
- Dip Powder: 2-3 weeks
Starting off on the right foot by choosing a longer-lasting manicure will ensure your nails continue looking amazing for longer.
Prep Nails For Your Manicure
If you get manicures regularly, this might not apply to you. However, for those who either keep their nails natural or maybe swipe on a quick coat of paint at home, there are a few things you can do in preparation for a manicure that will ensure it lasts as long as possible.
moreHow to Keep Your Nails Looking Great on Vacation
Summer is quickly approaching which means that it’s finally time to pack your bags and head out to the beach. Scheduling a manicure and pedicure is a must for you to be entirely vacation ready. Regardless of how long you’re going to be going on your trip, the one thing you want to make sure of is that your nails continue to look great.
In today’s blog, we are going to touch on a few of the ways that you can ensure your mani and pedi continue to look good throughout your time on the beach.
Keep it Short
While long, fierce nails might be your typical go-to when getting a manicure, if you’re going to be heading out on vacation, you should consider keeping it short. For starters, the last thing that you want to deal with while on vacation is a broken nail. Not only is this pain that you don’t want to have to endure, but you already know that you’re going to be using your hands quite a bit. Rather than risk the chances of breaking a nail, stick to shorter nails that you’re going to be able to better manage.
Aside from that, shorter nails provide you with a little more wiggle room in regards to the next time you need to schedule a mani. If you’re going to be going on a longer trip and won’t have time to schedule a manicure or pedicure or you won’t have access to a nail salon, then the shorter your nails are, the better.
moreTreat Your Mom At Our Naples Nail Salon This Mother’s Day!
Mother’s Day is coming up fast! Have you made any plans yet?
Mother’s Day is a great time of the year to give thanks to the mothers that are here and remember those we have lost. If there’s one thing we know, it’s that mothers often spend so much time caring for others that they forget to spend time caring for themselves. For that reason, Mother’s Day is a great opportunity for children, both young and old, to treat their mothers to some pampering at Herbal nail bar, your organic nail salon in Naples, Florida.
Keep in mind that our organic nail salon is closed on Sundays, so you might want to schedule your quality time with your mother for Saturday! After you book your appointment for an herbal manicure, pedicure, or another salon service, read below to learn about the interesting history of Mother’s Day!
The History Of Mother’s Day
Mother’s Day has quite an interesting history like many holidays. Mother’s Day was first created by a woman named Anna Jarvis in 1908. It was conceptualized as a day to honor the sacrifices mothers make for their children. After a successful first Mother’s Day turnout that year, Jarvis was determined for her holiday to be recognized nationally. Arguing that many national holidays involve male achievements and leave out female ones, she organized a massive letter-writing movement to encourage politicians to accept Mother’s Day as a national holiday. Her efforts paid off, and by 1914, it became an official US holiday recognized by every state.
moreLearn About CND Shellac Manicures
At Herbal Nail Bar, we are thrilled to offer CND products, including CND Shellac. CND is known for creating top-quality nail lacquers that outlast other brands by days, and sometimes even weeks. Because of the amazing quality of their products, CND only sells their Shellac brand to the finest nail salons, spas, and beauty supply stores.
In today’s blog, we’re going to discuss Shellac nail lacquer, which is possibly one of the most innovative nail polishes of all time. If you’re looking for a nail polish that can truly stand up to daily wear and tear without chipping, Shellac is a great option.
What Is Shellac?
Shellac is a type of nail polish that is cured under a UV lamp. The nail lacquer is a combination of gel and regular nail polish, giving it the strength and durability of gel polish while being easily applied like regular polish. The UV curing process gives Shellac an amazing 14-day lifespan before it begins chipping or peeling if applied correctly.
What Are The Benefits Of Shellac?
Shellac has a ton of benefits over traditional nail polish. As we mentioned above, a CND Shellac manicure is expected to last for about two weeks. Because the lacquer is cured under a UV lamp, it is incredibly strong and durable. Just make sure to have your nails done at a reputable salon like Herbal Nail Bar so you can ensure your technician is applying the Shellac correctly for the best results.

Learn about Kokoist Soft Gel Nail Enhancement
This is a written account from one of our lovely client who had a great experience trying the soft gel, Kokoist. Learn more below:
WARNING: YOUR NAIL SHAPE WILL REMAIN THE SAME AFTER THE GEL COLOR
Kokoist is a stop of the line soft gel with Japanese origin. Kokoist is named after a famous nail technician in Japan,Koko Kashiwagi, who started her own gel line after many years of experiences using a variety of systems.
What makes Kokoist unique? The quality of the soft gel. I have had different gel systems but this one requires experience and skill. I noticed while Don was adding the soft gel polish he used a precise technique to make sure the gel was even. He has mastered the Kokoist soft gel and the delicate texture that will provide outstanding results.
The results are impeccable. I requested a ballerina shape for my nails. Have you ever requested a shape that requires clean edges and at the end of the manicure when the gel color is applied the sharp edges round out and lose the shape you requested? Kookiest is for you.
This soft gel polish leaves your nails looking very natural. The coats are thin yet very potent. The color and the feel of the gel are very natural. I have been wearing this gel color going on two weeks and it hasn’t lost its shine or opacity.
moreHerbal Treatment Pedicure Experience At An Organic Nail Bar
Are you looking to pamper yourself? Try the Herbal Treatment Pedicure at Herbal Nail Bar. I tried the Detox Blend (consists of lemongrass, rosemary and green tea). I may never go back to a normal pedicure. The whole experience is beyond relaxing. From watching the nail experts create the blends for my pedicure at their “herbal lab” at the organic nail bar to smelling the quality ingredients in the water and while being exfoliated. All of the ingredients are fresh and organic, nothing was from a bottle.
Clean, new tools for each pedicure. Disposable tools for the cleanest experience every single time. The aroma is so strong that when clients walk through the door they have complimented the great smells of the herbal pedicure.
I have broken down different parts of the Herbal Treatment experience below that I received at my favorite nail salon near me!
Herbal “Heavenly” Pedicure:
- Soak – with Detox Blend, Dead sea salt, himalayan salt and aloe gel which reduces stress.
- Exfoliation – all organic, all fresh, nothing out of the bottle for this natural pedicure. Herbal smells fill the room and it soothes your mind, body and soul. Truly unique experience. Exfoliation is very relaxing. They create the unique blends right in front of you in their own “herbal lab”. The base of the exfoliation scrub includes aloe gel (healer of the dessert), himalayan salt and dead sea salt. Quality ingredients and application.
- Soothing French Clay – soothing experience which returns moisture to skin. While the mask is hardening they move on to the cleaning of the nails.
- Pedi – Remove nail color, shape and file nail, cuticles are removed. Lemons are used to remove excess cuticles!
- Cuticles are removed and they pay extreme attention to this. I was surprised at how much cuticles I have on my toe nails. Great cuticle removal and inspection. The best cuticle removal experience I’ve had at any Naples nail salon!
- Lemon applied to my nails after to the cuticles. Lemon benefits: softens cuticles, sanitizes cuticles and slows down the growth of cuticle. This is a great natural remedy and I loved experiencing this at the organic nail salon!
- Mud mask has dried and it pulls the toxins out of your skin. They rinse the mask off and massage your legs which leaves your legs feeling refreshed.
- Hot Towel – One towel for each leg! Extremely soothing experience and the most relaxing part of the pedicure.
- Color time! After the hot towel you feel like singing, “You make me feel like a natural woman…”
Learn About Gel-X by Aprés From Our Organic Nail Salon in Naples, FL
Want To Learn More About Gel-X, the nail system that stars like Ariana Grande can’t get enough of? Check out a client’s thoughts about Gel-X below!
The first time I visited Herbal Nail Bar I had just switched from acrylic nails to IBD Gel nails. My first appointment with Herbal Nail Bar was to fix a broken nail but of course, it was time for a fill for me. Don was kind enough to listen to me complain about how tired I was of having to have long fill appointments due to the IBD Gel system process. He provided me with a nail consultation. I had mentioned that I wish that my nails would be strong enough so that I can have natural nails. I was using acrylic tips for the past two years without letting my nails breathe. Don suggested that I try a new nail system, Gel-X by Aprés. Some points that he made that really stuck with me was that the fill-in process is much quicker, they last 3 weeks (versus your typical two weeks), they are all organic and would be much healthier for my nails.
After doing my own research I decided to switch completely. I came in for a two-hour session with Don where he stripped off my old IBD Gel nails. My nails were long enough that he could shape them. I was looking for shorter nails which worked perfectly. We decided “almond” shape would be the best shape for me since I was looking for a shorter style that would elongate my fingers. Throughout the whole process, he was educating me on what he was doing and why he was using the tools that he was. It was an experience I’ve never had. I can tell he is very passionate about the quality and outcome of his work at his organic nail salon. This system provides the strength of acrylics but it is ultimately without the harsh chemicals and powder.
moreLearn About Dip Powder Nails – The Trend You’ll See Everywhere
If you’ve spent any time following beauty vloggers or Instagrammers over the last year or so, you are likely familiar with dip powder manicures. While this process has been used for quite a while, it is only just becoming mainstream as more people decide they want to ditch acrylics or gel manicures and avoid UV drying lamps. Lucky for you, we offer this trendy manicure at our nail salon and have both the popular SNS powders and Powder Perfection powders! If you are unfamiliar with powder manicures or want to learn more, keep reading!
What Are Dip Powder Nails?
The name “dip powder manicure” is pretty self-explanatory. First, a base coat is applied to the nail and the nail is dipped into a pigmented powder or the powder can be spooned over the nail. Then, another layer of base coat is applied to the nail and the process is repeated until you have a beautiful, even color. Finally, a sealant is placed on top, turning the final layer of powder into a gorgeously smooth and shiny top coat.
How Long Do Dip Powder Nails Last?
Dip powder nails can last for two to four weeks with proper care. For those who don’t want to use UV lights to get a strong manicure with gels or acrylics but are tired of regular polish chipping after a few days, dip powder manicures are the perfect option.
moreTips For Healthy Nails
Here at Herbal Nail Bar, we are often asked by clients how they can keep their nails healthy. Thankfully, there are a few things you can do at home to keep your nails healthy and strong between appointments at our Naples nail salon. Keep reading for some helpful tips!
How To Keep Your Nails Healthy
- Get your vitamins and minerals: Your nails can tell you a lot about your health. If your nails are particularly brittle, discolored, clubbed, rippled, or have suspicious lines in or under them, this could be an indication of a vitamin deficiency. Sometimes this can be solved by taking a multivitamin and eating plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables. If you are concerned about a deficiency, be sure to bring it up with your doctor.
- Treat your nails gently: The same way you shouldn’t open up bottles with your teeth, you shouldn’t make your nails do more than they can handle. This means taking care when working with tools and being aware of your nails when opening cans, shutting doors, or doing other things that could hurt your nails.
- Don’t pick at your nail polish: We know how tempting it can be to rip off your polish when your manicure finally starts to chip. However, doing so can pull up layers of your fingernail, creating weak spots. Instead, leave polish removal to the pros at your nail salon or use a gentle polish remover at home.
- Keep your nails hydrated: Even if your actual fingernail is covered in polish, you can still moisturize around the nail to keep the entire nail healthy. Regularly apply a high-quality lotion throughout the day, especially after you wash your hands as soap can strip the nails of healthy moisture. At night, apply petroleum jelly around the nails and on the cuticle for deep moisture.
- Avoid harsh chemicals: When cleaning or using harsh chemicals, make sure to wear rubber gloves to protect your skin. Additionally, be careful about using harsh polish removers and opt for the most natural options to get the job done.
- Leave some tasks to your nail salon: While you can file and paint your nails without risking too much, it is best to leave bigger tasks to the professionals. Tasks like trimming your cuticles, for example, should only ever be done by those trained to do so in a sanitary environment. At Herbal Nail Bar, we follow incredibly strict safety and sanitary guidelines for the protection of our technicians and our clients so you can trust that any tools we use on your nails are clean.
- Keep your nails clean and dry: Bacteria can grow underneath your nails and it thrives in a moist environment. For that reason, it is important to wash your hands regularly with soap and water and take extra care to dry them thoroughly. Take time to dry your feet when you exit the shower as well.
- Always use a base coat: Base coats aren’t just a marketing ploy for nail polish companies to sell more products — they actually serve a pretty big purpose in the health of your nails! They prevent polish from staining your nails and some base coats have strengthening elements to keep your nails healthy.

moreHow To Choose The Best Nail Salon In Naples, FL
Here in beautiful Naples, Florida, you have a lot of options for where to get your nails done. However, we’re sure you know that not all nail salons are created equal! In today’s blog, Herbal Nail Bar is going to discuss four questions you should ask before choosing a nail salon to ensure you are getting a safe experience and long-lasting nails. Keep reading to learn how our Naples nail salon stack up to the competition!
Is The Salon Clean, And What Are Their Hygiene Policies?
Cleanliness of a nail salon is by far the most important feature. Even if they couldn’t paint a nail to save their lives, at least you know you won’t leave with a foot fungus or disease.
Herbal Nail Bar takes sterilization very seriously. Disposable tools like nail files, pumice stones, toe separators, wood tools, and nail buffers cannot truly be sterilized in a way that would protect you and the product, so we dispose of these after each client. If you go to a nail salon that does not do this, be aware that this salon is cutting corners and violating health and safety codes.
For metal tools, which can be sterilized, we use a hospital-grade autoclave — meaning doctors use the same type of system to sterilize surgical tools. It is the only way to properly kill spores and diseases that can otherwise be transferred from client to client. Nail salons that have metal tools sitting in a pool of blue liquid are not taking the necessary steps to protect you. Autoclaves are not required by the state, and a salon that invests in an autoclave invests in you, the client, as well.

moreDr. Remedy’s Organic Polish
Dr. Adam Cirlincione and Dr. William Spielfogel are board certified practicing Podiatric Surgeons based in New York who founded Dr.’s Remedy to address the needs of their patients. Both doctors have spent years of study and training in the field of Podiatry. Although, skilled surgeons, they realize a top reason patients come into their office is because of brittle, discolored nails, often times associated with the harsh chemicals found in nail polish. As physicians they have always been interested in the products their patients use and only want the best for their patients.
After treating patients for many years with a wide variety of podiatric concerns they joined together to create a product line that would address their patients’ desire to address the appearance of dry, brittle discolored nails. Frequently, during the course of their podiatry treatment, patients want to cover up unsightly nails or enhance the appearance of their nails.
Dr.’s REMEDY offers over 30 different shades of nail color along with nail care products such as base coat, top coat, cuticle care and a nail hydration. Each product is infused with a special blend of ingredients selected by Dr. Cirlincione and Dr. Spielfogel. This blend includes: wheat protein, tea tree oil, garlic bulb extract and lavender. Dr.’s Remedy products do not contain formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, toluene, camphor or phthalates or DBP. Dr.’s REMEDY is the best alternative to traditional nail polish.
